John Gibson, CB – Seattle Seahawks

Gibson was perhaps the most surprising Mizzou player to get an invite to an NFL camp on Saturday, as he was noticeably shaky in coverage at times during his career with the Tigers. With that said, he’s got prototypical cornerback size at 6-foot and 195 pounds, and that’s a quality that the Seahawks really value in their defensive backs. He also showed the ability to make plays during his time in Columbia, intercepting five passes, including three during his senior season.

Gibson joins former Tiger teammate Justin Britt in Seattle. The odds are certainly stacked against him, but perhaps he’s the oft-sought but never found “next Richard Sherman.”
