Missouri Tigers Players Agree to Undrafted Free Agent Deals
While only one Mizzou player was selected in this weekend’s NFL Draft, quite a few outgoing seniors have earned undrafted free agent contracts with teams across the league.
Only one Missouri Tigers player was selected in this weekend’s NFL Draft (defensive end Charles Harris, who went to the Miami Dolphins in the first round), marking the first time since 2012 that only one Mizzou player has been taken. That’s not necessarily the biggest surprise after the Tigers endured a 4-8 season in 2016.
On the bright side, though, plenty of Mizzou players will be in NFL minicamps next month, fighting for the opportunity to make a 53-man roster this fall. Seven MU players agreed to undrafted free agent deals shortly after the draft ended on Saturday night, and more–most likely running back Alex Ross and linebacker Michael Scherer–may still sign in the coming days or weeks.
