5. Washington Redskins- Landon Collins, S, Alabama

The Redskins’ two starting safeties for the majority of 2014, Brandon Meriweather and Ryan Clark, are both over 30 years old and are free agents this offseason. Collins, who is the most reliable safety by a mile in an extremely weak class at the position, would be a plug-and-play starter in Washington’s defense. He may not have as much playmaking potential as 2014 Alabama first-rounder HaHa Clinton-Dix, but Collins is more physical and will be a balanced player capable of playing either the strong or free safety position. He’ll be an important asset for a defense that is in rebuilding mode but has some nice pieces, such as Kennan Robinson, Jason Hatcher and Ryan Kerrigan, and could return to success quickly if managed properly.
