1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

Jameis Winston is not the best player in this draft class, and it’s debatable whether he has what it takes to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. With that said, this is an extremely weak quarterback class, and the Bucs need a quarterback now that they have determined that Mike Glennon and Josh McCown don’t have what it takes to lead them to the playoffs.

Winston is the best quarterback in this draft, and if he receives effective coaching, he has the skill set to be very effective. It may not be ideal to invest the draft’s first pick in a player as risky as Winston, but there’s no way that a quarterback with starting potential even close to Winston’s will be available at the start of Round 2.
