While Eastern Michigan, who opened their season with a blowout win over Mississippi Valley State, is a seemingly beatable opponent from the Mid-America Conference, they’re still a Division I FBS program and shouldn’t be discounted. After finishing 5-7 last year, Mizzou can’t really afford to take any opponent lightly. After all, 11 of their 12 opponents come from the FBS, with Delaware State being the only FCS opponent on the schedule.
Quarterback Drew Lock had possibly the best game of his young career at West Virginia, and he should get more opportunities to impress this week, though Barry Odom said earlier this week that backup Marvin Zanders will still get opportunities to contribute. Mizzou is expected to be rather patient overall with their lineup, though, as the only real changes that could potentially take place involve changing the distribution of reps given to several guys in the defensive line rotation; namely, Terry Beckner Jr. is expected to get more time on the interior, while Jordan Harold may have to share more of his reps with Marcell Frazier and Spencer Williams.

The Tigers will be trying hard to get head coach Barry Odom a win after he started off with a career record of 0-1 last week. The last Mizzou head coach to start off 0-2 was Woody Widenhofer, who went on to establish a 12-31-1 record over four seasons in Columbia.
