Goaltending

Ah…the one bright spot. Right? Well…yes. One thing that we have figured out is that Jake Allen has emerged as the number one goalie. Allen has started 12 more games than Brian Elliott. 12 more games is not an overwhelming margin, but Allen has played consistently better than Elliott. Allen enters the break with a goals-against average of of 2.17, which ranks sixth out of the 21 goalies who have started 30 or more games. Elliott has a GAA of 2.23, which is also above average. Both enter the break with a .920 save percentage. The Blues actually rank 13th in goals against, better than half the league. Goaltending, for now, is not a question.
