Erik Lora

Lora, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound slot receiver, was seemingly lost in the shuffle as part of a spectacular rookie receiver class in the 2014 draft. Lora was extremely productive as Jimmy Garoppolo’s favorite target at Eastern Illinois, catching 123 passes for 1,554 yards and 19 touchdowns. Despite a strong showing at the East-West Shrine Game, he went undrafted and signed with the Minnesota Vikings, and after being released by them, he ended up working on the football staff at Columbus High School in Miami.

Lora was on the offseason roster of the Detroit Lions but was released two days ago. He may be redundant with some of the athletically-limited, undersized slot receivers on the Rams roster, such as Devon Wylie and Daniel Rodriguez, but flashes some similarities to one of the better slot receivers in the league, the Dallas Cowboys’ Cole Beasley, and he’s at least worth a look for the remainder of OTAs.
