2015 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Super Bowl Edition

9. New York Giants- Alvin “Bud” Dupree, DE, Kentucky
It’s questionable whether the Giants will retain their best pass rusher, Jason Pierre-Paul, who is a free agent this offseason. Even if they do, they could use another defensive end, because even though Damontre Moore and Robert Ayers are nice contributors, the team’s decline has directly coincided with the gradual deterioration of the group of edge rushers which was seemingly endless a couple of years ago.
Dupree would be an even more important addition if Pierre-Paul left, because he would be more likely than any of the Giants’ current ends to pick up Pierre-Paul’s slack as a run defender. (Dupree had 74 tackles over 12 games for the Wildcats, while Pierre-Paul led the NFL’s 4-3 defensive ends with 77 tackles in 16 games). He’s also a highly athletic pass rusher who can plug the gap that has been left open since Justin Tuck left New York after the 2013 season.
