2. Veterans in their prime.

Every dynasty must have 2-3 hitters that can contribute at an elite level to sustain a dynasty run. The Big Red Machine in the 1970s had Pete Rose, Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench. The Yankees in 1990s had Bernie Williams, Paul O’Neill and Tino Martinez.

The Cardinals also have 3 players ready to produce in their prime. Yadier Molina and Allen Craig are the two most prominent elite players that I can safely say are still in their prime. Matt Holliday may still be in his prime but he is 33 and may be on the decline. However, Matt Carpenter is entering his prime and Jhonny Peralta is also in his prime. The Cardinals have enough players in their prime to sustain a dynasty run.
