Jake Matthews

Pros: A big strong offensive lineman who helped protect Johnny Manziel.

Cons: Run blocking is questionable.

Outlook

Jake Matthews would be a solid pick but it does not solve a need nor would he be the best available player on the board. Without Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M allowed less sacks but had 800 fewer rushing yards. The Rams were 8th in the league in least sacks allowed with 36 sacks however were 19th in the league in rushing yards. Jake Matthews might become a great pro but the Rams don’t need an offensive tackle and they certainly don’t need to select one 2nd overall.
