The Arizona Cardinals come into the Edward Jones Dome on Sunday to begin Week 1 of the most anticipated season for Rams football in quite some time. So just what type of team will the Arizona Cardinals be? Here is our “Know Your Enemy” segment on the Arizona Cardinals.

Offense to reign supreme?

Offense and the Arizona Cardinals? I’m feel like I’m taking crazy pills! However, that might be something to expect. Carson Palmer comes in to Arizona from the Oakland Raiders. Carson Palmer threw for 4,000+ yards last year and the Raiders still wanted him gone. That just shows you the level of dysfunction the Oakland Raiders are at but that’s a story for another day. The Cardinals still have Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd. The new head coach is Bruce Arians who loves offensive football.

Defense is stronger

The Cardinals had a mediocre defense in 2012. Ranked 17th in the NFL and 4th in the NFC West. But the Cardinals picked up John Abraham in free agency and selecting 2 former LSU players in the honey badger Tyrann Matheiu and linebacker Kevin Minter. The Cardinals might not be spectacular on defense, but this defense should be able to keep them in some games.
