Profiling candidates for the St. Louis Blues’ remaining coaching vacancies
Dan Bylsma
For a coach who’s just 46 years old, Bylsma is extraordinarily accomplished, as he led the Penguins to a Stanley Cup victory in his first season as an NHL head coach, became the fastest coach in NHL history to reach 200 wins, and coached the United States squad in the 2014 Winter Olympics. But while he’s generally been portrayed as a well-liked guy, it’s worth noting that he’s been fired from two head-coaching jobs in three years, having been let go by the Penguins in June of 2014 and by the Sabres last month.
Bylsma has previous ties to Yeo, having been his superior for 25 regular-season games and the entirety of the postseason for the Penguins’ Stanley Cup championship season in 2008-09.
