Josh Augusta, DT – New England Patriots

Augusta’s a player who has repeatedly shown the skill necessary to be an NFL defensive tackle, but at times he’s failed to maintain his consistency due to conditioning concerns. Augusta reportedly played at a weight somewhere in the range of 380 pounds while at Mizzou, but he slimmed down to 347 pounds for the Tigers’ Pro Day last month.

Only time will tell whether Augusta can stay in shape over a prolonged period, but if he can, the player who was graceful enough to serve as Mizzou’s fullback for much of 2016 could find real success in a Patriots defense that has allowed plus-size defensive tackles such as Alan Branch, Vince Wilfork, and Gerard Warren to shine. With that said, there will be quite a few talented players ahead of him on the depth chart.
