After he spent the weekend in the AHL, rookie center Ivan Barbashev is back with the St. Louis Blues and is likely to play Tuesday.

21-year-old center Ivan Barashev made his debut for the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night against the Minnesota Wild, collecting a shot and a team-best four hits in 10:03 of ice time. With the weekend bringing the NHL All-Star break, however, Barbashev was sent back to the AHL Chicago Wolves, which saved the Blues some salary cap space and allowed him to play in a game this weekend.

After being held shotless and pointless in the Wolves’ 3-2 shootout loss to the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday, Barbashev has rejoined the Blues in advance of Tuesday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets. If Thursday night’s game was any indication, he’ll likely center a line with Scottie Upshall and Ryan Reaves as his wings.

Though Barbashev ranks third on his own team in points, he has the 10th-most points of any player in the entire AHL. Having played 45 games through his second pro season, Barbashev has 19 goals and 18 assists for the Wolves.
