Travis Ford picked up yet another commitment as junior swingman Fred Thatch announced his intention to play for the Billikens in 2018.

The Saint Louis Billikens continue to add depth for their next anticipated run of competitiveness. Fred Thatch Jr., a guard/forward from Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Missouri, announced his intention to attend SLU for the 2018 season on Twitter Thursday night.

Thatch is ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals and also had offers from Mizzou and Tulsa. Rivals lists him at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds. He was awarded the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s Class 4 Player of the Year for the 2015-16 season.

Thatch is the eighth player to commit to SLU in the nine-and-a-half months since Ford took over. He follows current freshman Jalen Johnson, Division I transfers Adonys Henriquez, D.J. Foreman, Javon Bess, and Ty Graves, Class of 2017 signees Hasahn French and Jordan Goodwin, and 2018 commit Carte’are Gordon.

The Billikens have just two current seniors and will have another two in 2017-18, so barring transfers or early departures, Ford has awarded all of his allotted scholarships through the end of the ’17-’18 season.
