The clock has hit zero on Week 3 in the NFL. Here are results from the week and some of my thoughts on how the games here in the Midwest turned out.

Raiders 17 (2-1), Titans 10 (1-2)

This one came down to the wire as the Titans had multiple opportunities to get the ball into the end zone in the final minute of the game, and they eventually did! But sadly, it was negated by a blatant offensive pass interference call on veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson that put Tennessee fans on an emotional roller coaster. The game was not over with, however, as the Titans had some time left on the clock.

A couple plays later on an all-or-nothing fourth-and-four attempt, Marcus Mariota looked for Harry Douglas in the endzone, but the play was broken up by Raiders cornerback TJ Carrie. Douglas pleaded for a pass interference call, but the referees did not give in. On what was a very close call, I agree with the officials’ decision to let them play and not have a late penalty decide the game. Mariota had a not-so-stellar performance, throwing two interceptions, but did lead his team down the field late in the game to give the Titans a chance to win. Demarco Murray looked like the guy we saw in Dallas two years ago, running for 114 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. You can see this young team’s upside show from week to week as they have a few very talented players. The future should be bright for the Titans.
