Tyler Howell

Howell, a transfer from Butler Community College in Kansas, will immediately be cast into the Tigers’ starting left tackle role as he plays in his first Division I game on Saturday. It will be a unique opportunity for the 6-foot-8, 320-pound mauler, as he’ll become the anchor of a line that features no returning starters, but he’ll have to get up to speed quickly. The fate of quarterback Drew Lock largely rests in Howell’s hands, and though he’ll have to grow into his role on the fly, Howell certainly provides intrigue with his A-plus size and athleticism.
