Bob Gibson 1965, 1972

Bob Gibson made his first appearance in an All-Star Game in 1965, and in what may have been the greatest group of pitchers ever to throw for one league in an All-Star Game–it also included starter Juan Marichal, as well as Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax, who pitched in relief, among others–Gibson was called upon to get the save in a 6-5 game. Gibson did just that, striking out three while allowing two hits and walking one over two scoreless innings.

In the 1972 game, his last of eight All-Star Games, Gibson got his first and only start for the NL. Over two innings, Gibson allowed no runs while giving up just one hit and managing to retire legendary hitters such as Rod Carew, Carl Yazstremski, and Brooks Robinson.
