Forrest Whitley, RHP, Alamo Heights HS (TX)

Whitley, who features a high-90s fastball and an already-elite curveball, fits the traditional mold of a Cardinals ace at 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds. The 18-year-old may be too good of a prospect to fall to the Cardinals at 23, but perhaps his commitment to Florida State will help them out as signability concerns scare away other teams. Whitley has been linked to the Cards by MLB Pipeline’s Jonathan Mayo.
