St. Louis Blues Look to Set Tone in Game 1 Against San Jose Sharks
Blues Lineup
The Blues’ lineup is expected to remain nearly the same as it was for Game 7 at Dallas, with the lone change being the swap of centers Jori Lehtera and Alexander Steen on the top two lines. Lehtera has played with Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko for nearly the entirety of the postseason, so it will be back to normal for him, while Steen has moved around a bit more but has developed a good rapport with Patrik Berglund and David Backes.
It should be interesting to see how Steve Ott performs against San Jose, arguably the quickest, most finesse team that the Blues have faced this postseason. If he can’t stay disciplined, he’d seem to be at risk of losing his spot to a more skillful winger like Dmitrij Jaskin, Magnus Paajarvi, or Ty Rattie.
Here’s how the Blues’ lineup will likely look for Game 1 against San Jose:
Jaden Schwartz–Jori Lehtera–Vladimir Tarasenko
Patrik Berglund—Alexander Steen–David Backes
Robby Fabbri–Paul Stastny–Troy Brouwer
Scottie Upshall–Kyle Brodziak–Steve Ott
Jay Bouwmeester–Alex Pietrangelo
Joel Edmundson–Kevin Shattenkirk
Carl Gunnarsson–Colton Parayko
