UP: Seung Hwan Oh, RHP

Since this is the first major-league spring training for 33-year-old Korean import Seung Hwan Oh, there’s been some interest surrounding how the righthanded reliever will adapt to his new environment. Though it’s only been a week, Oh has responded superbly to every test he’s been given so far. Through two official appearances this spring, Oh has thrown 2.1 perfect innings. Oh also tossed a perfect inning of relief in the Cardinals’ win over Florida Atlantic University last Wednesday.

The bullpen roles will likely be determined most by the early regular season performances of guys like Oh, Jonathan Broxton, Kevin Siegrist, and Jordan Walden, but if Oh can continue to perform at this level of dominance in spring action, he’ll give himself a good shot to be the Cardinals’ primary setup man this season.
