Mizzou Tigers lose despite performances by Tramaine Isabell and Ryan Rosburg.

The Mizzou Tigers lost again Saturday afternoon, falling to the Texas A&M Aggies by a score of 84-69.  The dismal loss comes even as Tramaine Isabell and Ryan Rosburg post double digit scores. Rosburg was the bright spot for the Tigers, scoring 15 points. Rosburg was 5-6 from the field and did just as well from the free throw line. The senior big man also picked up five rebounds. Isabell led all Tigers in scoring with 17, going 7-13 from the field and 2-6 from three point range, as well as nabbing three rebounds and five assists.

However, the rest of the Tigers were silent offensively. Aside from Terrence Phillips and Cullen Van Leer, no Tiger scored more than five points or made more than three shots from the floor. The normally electric Namon Wright was cold; the sophomore was only 1-8 from the field and virtually non-existent on the other end; the best he could do was pick up three fouls. For the normally foul-ridden Tigers, this was an unusually clean game: Wright was the only Tiger to pick at least three fouls, and some of the night’s best performers, including Isabell went clean.

Of course, none of this could stop the Aggies. The #12 team in the nation had a four-headed monster on its side: Tonny Trocha-Morelos, Admon Gilder, Jalen Jones, and Danuel House all put up double digit scores, running circles around the Mizzou defense. Jones was the biggest star of the night, putting up 20 points and six rebounds. The senior went 8-14 from the floor and 4-5 from the free throw line. The Aggies also severely punished the Tigers for turnovers, scoring 17 points off of Mizzou’s mistakes. The Tigers, by contrast, only scored three points off turnovers.

The Tigers now limp into the final stretch, and their next game is at LSU on Tuesday.
