Jaden Schwartz

49 games missed since October 24 (fractured ankle)

Jaden Schwartz has undoubtedly been the Blues’ biggest injury loss during the 2015-16 season, as he’s missed nearly the entire schedule to date following a freak accident in practice on October 23 that required emergency surgery to fix a fractured ankle. Perhaps it’s just teams around the league adjusting to them (as well as the other injuries that have occurred), but the Blues have gone 25-15-9 without Schwartz after starting off 5-2 with him in the lineup. That’s not a terrible record by any means, but when you factor in the time that Schwartz missed last season with a fractured foot, the Blues are 26-20-10 without Schwartz in the lineup over the past two seasons, compared to 55-21-8 with him.

With Schwartz scheduled to re-enter the lineup for the first time in roughly four months on Friday at Florida, the Blues will hope that he can restore the winning spirit that he seems to provide to the lineup. At the very least, they’ll hope that he can inject a little bit of offensive firepower into the lineup for a team that has scored just 10 goals in its past seven games.
