There were plenty of captivating stories in St. Louis sports during 2015. Which one will be remembered the most in years to come?

Perhaps the greatest thing about St. Louis’s usual status as an “underdog” sports city is that when the local teams find success, there’s generally a good story that goes along with it. That’s even the case with the Cardinals, who have made the postseason in five straight years but seem to succeed thanks to a little bit of magic each year. That was particularly true with the 2015 team, which finished with the best record in baseball despite significant injuries throughout the year to key contributors Jon Jay, Matt Adams, Adam Wainwright, Matt Holliday, Randal Grichuk, and Yadier Molina.

This is relevant, of course, because one of our annual Arch Awards goes to the most captivating storyline that develops on our sports scene during the year. This award will go to the storyline that inspired the most excitement and positive emotion during the 2015 calendar year and will live on most prominently in St. Louis sports history.

Please read through the next few slides to learn more about the nominees, and don’t forget to vote for the most deserving storyline at the end of the slideshow.
