St. Louis Rams vs. Chicago Bears: Staff Predictions

twitterfacebookreddit

The St. Louis Rams return home on Sunday to meet up with the Chicago Bears for the first time since 2013. It won’t exactly be a premium NFL matchup, as the Rams are coming off a deflating loss to the Minnesota Vikings and are slowly slipping out of position to compete for a playoff spot. The Bears, meanwhile, are coming off a Monday night victory over the San Diego Chargers, but they’re one of the NFL’s least talented teams and have struggled to a 3-5 victory this year under new head coach John Fox.

As is weekly tradition, our Arch Authority staff took a guess at who will come away with the win in Sunday’s game:

Patrick Karraker: “Though the Rams have a few ‘should-wins’ remaining on their schedule after Sunday, this game against the Bears realistically is a ‘must-win’ if they want to make the playoffs. As we saw last week, things are more of a challenge with a depleted defense, but Todd Gurley should again be dominant enough to give the Bears’ defense fits. I’ll say the Rams come away with the win here in a close victory.”

Sammy Stava: “I’ll go with the Rams. They lost a tough one last week at Minnesota, but this year’s team can bounce back from that. They’re still playing well at home and I expect that to continue to keep their playoff chances alive.”

57. 20. 51. Final. 10

Paul Lamb: “The Rams are finding their stride, and are beginning to look like a team that can make a playoff run. Again this week, the defense will need to produce some turnovers, which we know they’ll get against Cutler. But I have to honor my Chicago roots in this one. Bear down.
