Jake Allen, St. Louis Blues Blank Nashville Predators in Dominating 4-0 Win
By Sammy Stava
Jake Allen is definitely making a case to be the No. 1 goaltender for the St. Louis Blues this season. Heck, he may have already earned the job in Saturday’s game against the Nashville Predators.
In fact, he was probably the first, second, and third star for tonight’s effort in Nashville. Stopping a career-high 45 shots faced on Saturday night, Allen earned his second shutout of the season as the Blues rolled to a convincing 4-0 victory.
With Kevin Shattenkirk returning to the lineup tonight after missing 10 games with a groin injury, the Blues scored two power play goals in a game for the first time this season.

Colton Parayko scored on the power play, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead in the first period with his fifth goal of the season.
The lead was still 1-0 heading into the third period. The Blues ran away with it in the final 20 minutes. The Blues scored three goals in the third period on goals from Alex Pietrangelo, Scottie Upshall, and Alexander Steen.
It has been a successful road trip so far for St. Louis, as the team has made a statement with the stunning comeback against Chicago on Wednesday and this domination against Nashville. With the win tonight, the Blues have won five out of their last six games and improved to 4-1-0 against the Central Division, handing the Predators their first home loss in regulation this season. The Blues improved to 10-3-1 overall this season and are 2-0 since #RoarBacon became a rallying cry.
Looking ahead, the Blues continue their four-game road trip against the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night.
