Missouri Tigers Gain Four-Star Prospect DaRon Davis

Even though the current season has been less than stellar, the Missouri Tigers have much to look forward to in the coming years. Missouri’s 2017 recruiting class got off to strong start Friday; four-star recruit WR DaRon Davis committed to Missouri, per the Kansas City Star.

The Hogan Prep product also had an offer from Kansas, and had visits from Florida State and Minnesota. Davis is 6’2, 190 pounds, and has a 42″ vertical. Davis could be another running back to stash in the backfield, but Tod Palmer of the Kansas City Star noted that based on Gary Pinkel‘s recruiting history, Davis will likely be an addition to the receiving corps.

The Tigers’ receiving corps has been a weak spot for them this season, but by the time Davis arrives on campus in 2017, he could be another piece of a good receiving corps, as players like Nate Brown and J’Mon Moore will have grown their games by then. In addition, Drew Lock will have grown as a quarterback.

With Davis, Pinkel has set a high bar for himself with the 2017 class. The question now is whether he takes good players and makes them great or great players to make them spectacular.
