St. Louis Blues: Vladimir Tarasenko Set to Return to the Lineup Tomorrow Night
By Sammy Stava
The St. Louis Blues are gearing up for a tough task as they will play the Los Angeles Kings and the Chicago Blackhawks on back-to-back nights, starting Tuesday and continuing Wednesday. In a bit of good timing, the Blues will get a key injured player back as forward Vladimir Tarasenko will return to the lineup on Tuesday. Tarasenko only missed one game in Saturday night’s 3-2 overtime win, as he was sidelined just for precaution and his injury didn’t seem to be serious.
There was no official update given on defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, but it is unlikely that he will play tomorrow. He is still viewed to be just a couple of days away, and it is only a matter of time before he returns.
Goalie Jake Allen, fresh off being awarded NHL’s Second Star of the Week, will make his fourth consecutive start tomorrow night. Allen has won each of his three straight decisions, posting one shutout in that span. With Allen starting Tuesday, Brian Elliott will get the start on Wednesday in Chicago. Elliott will be making his first start since October 24th in a 3-2 overtime loss. However, Elliott still has an unblemished record in regulation this season at 4-0-1.
As the calendar turns to November, the Blues finished the month of October with a record of 8-2-1 and 17 points. St. Louis sits one point behind Dallas for the top spot in the Central Division in the early going. Riding a three-game winning streak, the Blues will wrap-up their five-game homestand against the Kings that they’ve gone 3-0-1 in so far.
The Blues will catch the Kings on their second of back-to-back games, as they play the Blackhawks in Chicago on Monday.
