Todd Gurley Could Make NFL Debut This Week
By Nic Moody
The St Louis Rams get some more good news.
In all honestly, it has been a wonderful week to be a Rams fan. Just to name a few reasons: the Rams won against division rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday after a huge comeback occurred in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter. Then, Aaron Donald and Tavon Austin earned player of the week honors announced Wednesday. Put those in with the excitement of a new quarterback, a nasty defensive front, and a chance to go 2-0 for the first time since 2001, and Rams fans should have no complaints about the team to start the season.
However, now there is some even more great news. Head coach Jeff Fisher announced Wednesday that he isn’t ruling Todd Gurley out for this weekend’s game against the Redskins.

"“I ruled him out in the preseason and ruled him out last week. I’m not ruling him out right now. We’ll see how he does, but this is a medical decision, a trainer’s decision, a collective decision. But we’ll see how he does this week.”"
That’s what Jeff Fisher said regarding Gurley’s status. This is huge progress for the tenth overall pick. There is still major doubt about him actually playing Sunday, but this means he has a real shot at playing in week three against the Steelers. Imagine what a player like Todd Gurley could do in the run game for St Louis. With the way St Louis played in the overtime win Sunday, Gurley would fit right in and immediately boost production for the struggling Rams rushing attack.
Whether we see Gurley this Sunday or next, it’s still a refreshing take to hear he will be back sooner than originally anticipated. (Fisher said before week one that they would likely hold Gurley out until week four) Fisher isn’t worried about throwing Gurley into games without too much preparation, as he said to reporters that Gurley “fully knows what to do.”
If Fisher does rule Gurley out or in for week two, we will make sure to have the information for you immediately.
