St. Louis Cardinals: Which Players Will Join the Roster in September?

While he doesn’t have electrifying stuff, Socolovich bailed the Cardinals out of some rough situations during 2015, and it would be surprising if he didn’t rejoin the club in September. Over 21 appearances spanning 23.1 innings, the 29-year-old had a 1.54 ERA with a .205 opponent batting average and a 1.16 WHIP. It’s going to be tough for the longtime minor-leaguer to earn a spot on the postseason roster, mostly just because of his lack of MLB experience in relation to guys like Steve Cishek and Jonathan Broxton, but he’ll be a great depth guy to have in the bullpen as the Cards try to spread the work around in September.
