St Louis Rams: News Updates From the Last Week

The St Louis Rams are having a busy week.

There has been plenty of news for Rams fans throughout the last week, some good, some bad. Here is what you might have missed this week:

Bud Sasser, the Rams sixth round pick in this years draft, was hired onto the team after a heart condition left him unable to continue his football career. The Rams already paid his signing bonus back in May, and now have even taken that a step further, by giving Sasser a full time job with the organization.

St Louis Native radio and sports broadcaster Joe Buck got on twitter to publicly criticize Rams owner Stan Kroenke, claiming that St Louis is a great NFL city and deserves to keep the team. Buck feels like Kroenke is trying to manipulate the NFL into thinking St Louis doesn’t support its team, which Buck claims is not the case.

Rams defensive end Chris Long has been pushing his wonderful charity, which provides water to Africa for those who do not have any. Chris has been building a team of “waterboys” to help donate towards building solar water wells in East Africa. You can learn more and donate at http://www.waterboys.org/.

EA Sports released Madden 16 on Tuesday, and the St Louis Rams official twitter account asked for highlights from fans who were playing as the Rams, which is pretty neat. I personally think they rated the Rams too low, (78 overall) but I guess that is why I’m not a game programmer.

Lawmakers in St Louis have released public outcry once again about public funds being used for a new stadium in St Louis. After their case in court fell through, they tried once more to make their pleas via social network.

Despite St Louis having major trouble on offense in their last preseason game, fans can still be excited at the news of wide receiver Brian Quick returning to the field this Saturday against the Colts. Fans can also be excited about running back Todd Gurley getting the chance to finally participate in team practices.

The Rams lost to the Titans on Sunday in a game that has many fans worried about how the team will perform in the upcoming season. There is still plenty of time to fix the bugs however, so we’ll wait until closer to the season before we start panicking too much.

The Rams do play the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday at seven central time. If you are in the area, tickets are very cheap at the moment, so feel free to go support the Rams in the preseason opener.
