Brian Quick Will Likely Play Against Indianapolis
By Nic Moody
St Louis Rams wide receiver Brian Quick is expected to play in Saturdays matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
Brian Quick was drafted in 2012 in the second round. Quick was expected to be an immediate starter, but he struggled heavy with route running, and had trouble holding onto passes thrown his way. Just when Quick’s career seemed to be almost over, he had a resurgence in his game when he caught seven passes for 99 yards in the home opener against the Vikings last year.
Quick continued to impress, becoming the number one option for St Louis in the following weeks. Quick was on pace for a 1000 yard season when he suffered a gruesome shoulder injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in week eight. Quick finished with 375 yards and 25 receptions with three touchdowns through seven games, which still stands as his career best despite not even playing in half of the season.

Quick has had a long road to recovery. The shoulder injury required surgery, which revealed multiple torn ligaments and a torn rotator cuff. It was a question whether or not Quick even be able to ever play again. That’s how bad the injury was. Quick was injured still even coming into training camp this year, but as of Tuesday, he had gotten clearance to remove the yellow beanie and can take full contact hits. The yellow beanie signifies that a player can be hit, but lets the defense know to proceed with caution as they are coming off of an injury. Now that he can remove it, Quick will likely play in Saturday’s game, as Jeff Fisher says he is “good to go”.
This would be a huge boost for St Louis. They’re offense is performing sub par as of late, and giving Nick Foles one of his favorite targets back could help that situation tremendously. Foles has struggled a great amount himself, and it has been made clear that Quick is a player Foles has spent a lot of time developing chemistry with thus far.
Can Quick revive the struggling Rams offense? He’s a big target at 6’3, and should take defensive pressure off of Kenny Britt. This should give Foles more options to throw to and hopefully limit the mistakes. The St Louis Rams kick off against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday at 7:00 P.M Central time.
