The MLB Draft kicks off on Monday night, with the first and second rounds, plus two competitive balance rounds and a compensatory round, taking place. The St. Louis Cardinals will pick 23rd in the second round, along with the ever-inappropriately-termed competitive balance selection at pick 39, which they are eligible for because they’re part of one of the 10 smallest markets in Major League Baseball.
