2015 NFL Draft: St. Louis Rams Select Jamon Brown in Third Round
The St. Louis Rams have selected Louisville offensive lineman Jamon Brown with the eighth pick of the third round (72nd overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft. Brown, a 6-foot-4, 323-pounder, started every game at left tackle for Louisville over the past two seasons after starting every game at right tackle during his sophomore season. He saw action on both sides during the 2014 season, as the Cardinals utilized some offensive schemes in which the positioning of the tackles was dictated by the strong and weak sides rather than the traditional left and right.

Brown is expected to transition to guard with the Rams and could be an immediate starter at the right guard position, which was filled by veteran
Davin Josephfor most of the 2014 season. Unless the Rams bring in another outside free agent, such as former Atlanta Falcon
Justin Blalock, the battle for the right guard spot will likely be a competition among Brown, veteran
Garrett Reynoldsand longtime backup
Brandon Washington.

Brown is the second offensive lineman that the Rams have taken on Day 2, as they took Wisconsin offensive tackle Rob Havenstein with their second-rounder. If the Rams don’t bring back free agent right tackle Joe Barksdale, the Rams could have a rookie right side of the line, as Brown and Havenstein seem to be the most logical fits at the right guard and right tackle spots as things stand currently.
