St. Louis Rams Mock Draft: Projecting All of the Team’s Picks in the 2015 NFL Draft

Round 1, Pick 10 (10th overall) Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami
I’m putting Flowers here because he’s been linked rather heavily to the Rams in recent days; that doesn’t mean that they’ll actually end up taking him at 10, as taking Flowers that high would be a bit of a reach, and they could trade down to get him.
Size-wise, Flowers is a great fit for the Rams’ ground-and-pound scheme at 6-foot-6 and 329 pounds, though taking him would still be risky for the Rams. He’s got numerous technical issues, namely with his stance, footwork, and pad level. On top of that, he was more of a finesse blocker during his college career—think of the complete opposite of Greg Robinson—and was more of a pass-blocking specialist.
Adding to the risk with Flowers is the fact that the Rams will be planning to play him at a position other than the one where he earned his status as a first-round pick. Flowers is superior to some other candidates (such as Andrus Peat) in that he does have a bit of experience on the right side, having started four games there as a freshman at Miami. Still, though, it may be a bit of a transition for him to move back to the right side for the long term.
