If the Rams don’t get a receiver like Cooper or DeVante Parker with the 10th pick, they could nab a similar (or better) talent in the second round with the selection of Dorial Green-Beckham. While “DGB”’s draft stock appears to have improved over the past couple months and many are now projecting him to go in the first round, it’s still possible that his character issues will drop him at least into the second round. The big wideout, who was kicked out of the University of Missouri last spring, was arrested twice for marijuana possession at Mizzou and finally sealed his fate by being involved with an alleged domestic violence incident. While it’s possible that Green-Beckham’s issues could be behind him, teams will undoubtedly be worried about him considering the NFL’s new personal conduct policy, which could lead to an immediate suspension for him if he slips up again.

Green-Beckham might still be a wise selection for the Rams. Even though he underperformed for a decent chunk of his all-too-brief college career, he had really come on at the end and was the biggest difference-maker on Mizzou’s SEC West champion squad. The Rams have shown that they’re not afraid to take character risks—after all, 11 players on the current roster have been arrested at some point during their college or pro career—and by taking Green-Beckham, they’d have a chance to acquire the most athletically talented wideout in this year’s draft.

“DGB” may be a bit redundant with the skill sets of Brian Quick and Kenny Britt, but if the Rams got him, they could utilize all three players to create a physical element of surprise similar to the one that enabled the Chicago Bears to be so successful with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery in 2013.
