2. Eli Harold, 6’3, 247, Virginia

Harold’s an extremely talented pass rusher who is still a bit raw after deciding to come out for the draft as a junior. He’s a natural fit for a 3-4 outside linebacker spot and definitely has the athletic ability to stick there, though he may be a bit light to fit properly in a 4-3 scheme.

Harold’s form in getting into the backfield is very polished, though he could stand to incorporate some better pass rush moves. He’s very aggressive and has ferocious hands, his closing speed is elite, and once he beats his blocker he’s virtually impossible to stop. He moves very well laterally, and he should be a real asset in coverage and against the run, especially considering his strong tackling ability.

Other than adding a few pounds, Harold’s foremost goal should be to work on his pad level, especially when coming out of a two-point stance, and to develop the power element of his game on top of just being a strong speed rusher.

Harold has a chance to go in the first round, but as his style of play is similar to that of guys like Randy Gregory and Shane Ray, he may be pushed back a bit if teams are seeking a sturdier rusher such as Bud Dupree, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, Dante Fowler, or Markus Golden.
