10 NFL Draft Prospects with Most to Prove at NFL Scouting Combine
Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports
Darius Philon, DT, Arkansas
Philon is arguably one of the 10 best defensive tackles in this draft class, however, he made an odd decision to declare for the draft as a redshirt sophomore who had played in only 25 games with 7.5 career sacks. Obviously the best thing for Philon will be when teams notice the superior pass rushing technique he’s displayed on tape despite his lack of production, but he can also aid himself by performing well in the shuttle run and the rip and swim drills.
It will also be important for Philon to weigh in well, as he’s been listed as light as 272 pounds by Arkansas but will need to weigh in above 280 to be taken seriously as a defensive tackle in the NFL.
