10 NFL Draft Prospects with Most to Prove at NFL Scouting Combine
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports
Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
Barring any other character concerns that emerge before the draft, Winston seems pretty safe at this point as the top quarterback in this class. With that said, the combine will still be a very important opportunity for teams to gather more information on the 21-year-old quarterback.
First and foremost, it will be beneficial for teams to get an opportunity to talk to Winston one-on-one, not only to get an explanation for his past indiscretions, but to discuss his approach to leading an offense. Secondly, it will help Winston if his physique is better at the weigh-in than it looked to be in the shirtless photo of him working out that was circulated this past weekend. While a quarterback’s body type doesn’t matter that much, at least compared to other positions, it wouldn’t be the best look for Winston if he showed up in Indianapolis seriously out of shape.
