Which 5 Missouri Tigers 2015 Recruits have the Best Chance to Contribute Right Away?

2. Chase Abbington, RB
With Marcus Murphy matriculating from the program and Morgan Steward’s status in question following a seemingly minor hip procedure that turned out to be season-ending, Mizzou had a lack of depth at running back. The addition of Abbington helps out a lot there, and the junior college transfer may quickly leapfrog Ish Witter, who ran for 101 yards on 27 attempts as a true freshman in 2014, on the depth chart.
Abbington, a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder, was ranked by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports as a four-star recruit and ran for 832 yards in 11 games during his lone season on the field for Hutchinson Community College. He could provide a legitimate power presence to Mizzou’s backfield that they haven’t had since Derrick Washington was on the team in the late 2000s.
