Which 5 Missouri Tigers 2015 Recruits have the Best Chance to Contribute Right Away?
Scott Kane-USA TODAY Sports
The Missouri Tigers recruiting staff brought in an impressive haul on National Signing Day 2015, signing 23 players to letters of intent and compiling the 18th-ranked recruiting class by ESPN. They were able to bring in 18 three-star prospects, eight four-stars, and one five-star player: East St. Louis defensive tackle Terry Beckner, Jr., who is widely regarded as Mizzou’s most high-profile recruit since wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham joined the Tigers in 2012.
The Tigers were also able to accomplish the unique feat of bringing in the top-ranked player from three different states: Beckner, Jr. from Illinois, quarterback Drew Lock from Missouri, and guard A.J. Harris from Kansas. The Tigers were also able to make their biggest push yet into SEC country, getting a combined nine players from the core southeastern region of Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Florida.
Obviously with the Tigers returning a good chunk of talent from their SEC East Champion team of 2014, there won’t be enough playing time to go around for all of the recruits this coming season, and some of them will have to be redshirted or relegated to rotational roles. Here are the five Mizzou recruits who have the greatest chance to contribute from the get-go in 2015.
