2. Keep Vladimir Tarasenko on Pace Offensively
Over the first two-and-a-half months of the Blues’ season, Vladimir Tarasenko was very possibly the best player in hockey. Since then, however, his performance has dropped off, and the Blues need him to get back into his early-season form in order to compete for a Stanley Cup.
Tarasenko, who contended with Tyler Seguin for the NHL’s lead in goals until late December, has since dropped to fifth in the category. After scoring 20 goals in his first 31 games (an average of .645 per game), he only has four goals over his past 15. He’s still contributed a fair amount by notching seven assists over that time, but clearly Tarasenko needs to start scoring more regularly if he’s going to continue to establish himself as one of the best offensive threats in the league.
