In St. Louis, we have a rich history of sports success, and St. Louisans often revere their favorite local athletes for their on-field accomplishments. It can be easy to forget, however, that in their unique positions of affluence, visibility, and influence, athletes also have a great opportunity to be some of the biggest difference-makers in the community.

Here at Arch Authority, we wanted to recognize those athletes who have made spectacular contributions to the people of St. Louis and have really gotten invested in charitable causes that make a difference in the world. Among the numerous worthy candidates, the recipients of our 2014 Community MVP Awards are Rams right tackle Joe Barksdale, Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright, and Blues forward David Backes.
