The Missouri Tigers will attempt to win the SEC East, and therefore clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game for the second straight year, as they conclude their regular season against the Arkansas Razorbacks. It will be the first iteration of the “Battle Line” rivalry between the Tigers and Razorbacks, which is scheduled to take place yearly on Black Friday as the schools’ respective inter-conference rivalry.

The Razorbacks, now at 6-5 on the season, have come on strong over the past couple weeks. After losing their first 13 SEC games under Brett Bielema, they finally broke into the win column two weeks ago against #17 LSU, winning 17-0. They continued that success last week, shocking the #8 Mississippi Rebels 30-0. Needless to say, the Tigers will be looking to break Arkansas’s shutout streak and avoid being the third straight ranked SEC team to be upset by the Razorbacks. If Arkansas is able to pull off the victory, it would be their first road conference victory under Bielema.

More from Missouri Tigers

It will be an emotional day at Mizzou, as 2o seniors, including notable contributors such as Markus Golden, Marcus Murphy, Bud Sasser, and Mitch Morse will play their final home game at Faurot Field. In addition, it’s likely the last time redshirt junior defensive end Shane Ray, who has been the Tigers’ MVP this year and vaulted himself into the top five projections of many NFL mock drafts, will take the field, as he figures to go pro after this season.

The Tigers may be without starting cornerback Aarion Penton, who suffered a hamstring injury last week in his return from a one-game suspension for marijuana possession. If Penton can’t go, John Gibson figures to start in his place.
