St. Louis Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals Staff Predictions
The St. Louis Rams head into Arizona on Sunday to play the first of two games on the schedule this year against their division rivals, the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams split their season series against the Cardinals last year, winning the opener against Arizona 27-24, but then losing 30-10 with a very depleted squad in Arizona on December 8.
Here’s how our Arch Authority staff expects Sunday’s game to play out:
Patrick Karraker, Editor: “It’s impossible to predict this Rams team in 2014. One week they’ll look like a team that deserves a top five pick in the draft, then the next week they’ll come out and look like a playoff contender. The one thing that we haven’t seen them do this year is win in back-to-back weeks, and I’m not going to come out and predict that it’s going to happen until I see it with my own eyes. This Cardinals team may not be the most talented in the league, but they’re probably the best coached, and I expect them to improve on their NFL-best 7-1 record on Sunday.” Cardinals 24, Rams 16

Paul Lamb, Staff Writer: “The Rams surprised us by winning a few games that I said wouldn’t even be close against the Seahawks and 49ers. And honestly, on paper, this one shouldn’t be close. But I have to go against all my instincts, because they continue to prove me wrong by finding a way to win. Also, Carson Palmer just got a huge contract, so expect him to come out a little flatter than he would be if he was still trying to earn an extension.” Rams 17, Cardinals 13
Scott Criscione, Staff Writer: “I predict that the Cardinals will attack a young and weak Rams secondary in a blowout victory.” Cardinals 38, Rams 17
