3. Alterraun Verner

The Rams had the chance to sign Verner, who was originally drafted by Jeff Fisher, in the offseason as a free agent. Instead, they passed on him and allowed him to sign with Tampa. And with the impact that marginal Vikings, cornerbacks like Josh Robinson and Captain Munnerlyn had on the Rams’ offense in Week 1, it may be tough for them to handle one of the best cover corners in the league in Verner. With whoever the Rams’ quarterback ends up being Sunday (either Austin Davis or Shaun Hill) already struggling to get things going as a passer, it’s even more of a challenge to have one side of the field largely off limits in most cases. With Lavonte David and Verner being able to shut down two areas of the field on almost every play, things will be tough if the Rams plan on emphasizing the passing game in Tampa.
