Lance Lynn Dominant in Cardinals’ Win over Red Sox
By Darrel Craig
Lance Lynn was absolutely dominant tonight against the Boston Red Sox, pitching seven innings and allowing one earned run on four hits.
Lynn, who picked up his 12th win of the season and is now 12-8, did not need much from the Cardinals offense tonight. The Cardinals managed 3 runs on 10 hits, and the game winning RBI was provided by a Jon Jay single in the bottom of the 9th, scoring A.J. Pierzynski. The Cardinals have now won three games in a row and remain just one game back of the NL Central-leading Brewers, who defeated the San Francisco Giants tonight 4-3. Trevor Rosenthal added his league leading 35th save of the season as the Redbirds continue to roll and chase down the Brewers for the NL Central crown.
