Ranking St. Louis Blues Offseason Moves from Least to Most Impactful

9. Pat Cannone, C
27 years old, re-signed as UFA to one-year, $550K/$125K two-way contract
Cannone, an undersized utility forward, didn’t get any NHL opportunities during the 2013-14, but in an organization with less depth than the Blues had he likely would have, as he had a very good season in the AHL. Over 59 games, Cannone scored 16 goals and contributed 18 assists, while serving a career-low 16 penalty minutes and covering himself well in the defensive zone, finishing with a plus-24 rating. If he has that kind of production again in 2014-15, Cannone may be a guy who competes with Ferriero and John McCarthy for a call-up if and when the Blues need another center on the NHL roster.
