Ranking St. Louis Blues Offseason Moves from Least to Most Impactful

1. Paul Stastny, C
28 years old, signed as UFA to four-year, $28M contract
There’s really no question that Stastny was the Blues’ biggest acquisition of the offseason, if not their biggest free agent signing ever. The 6-foot, 205-pound center, who spent much of his youth in St. Louis while his father Peter played and worked for the Blues organization, should be expected to contribute 20-plus goals and 30-plus assists on a yearly basis. He’ll provide a legitimate playmaking presence up the middle that the Blues have been without for a long while. Stastny just may be the player the Blues need to put them over the edge and allow them to compete in the postseason and contend for the Stanley Cup. He’s the best signing of this offseason and of Doug Armstrong’s career as Blues GM.
