1. Adam Wainwright

2014 Numbers: 10-4 in 16 starts/116.1 IP, 2.01 ERA, 105 SO, 22 BB, .199 BAA, 0.90 WHIP

Adam Wainwright is a definite Cy Young Award candidate and is a virtual lock to make his third All-Star team this season. He’s been absolutely dominant in almost every start he’s gotten this year, and with all the injuries and poor performances that the Cardinals’ rotation has endured in June (and for that matter, the entire team), Wainwright has been hugely responsible for keeping the Cards in the division race. With Matheny in charge, it would not be at all surprising if Wainwright ended up starting for the NL in this year’s Midsummer Classic.
